Earlier, the specially disabled faced difficulties to get opportunities and equal status anywhere. However, Dr. Satendra Singh changed it all. A polio patient, Dr. Singh challenged the odds and created new opportunities not only for disabled people in further professional and academic endeavours. Because of his efforts, special government posts were opened for disabled doctors, polling booths were customized and made for the disabled, proof of disability was removed for the physically challenged who were applying for medical studies. We thank such doctors who have faced the odds and helped the society.
